Torquay United

Directions

At the end of the M5 follow onto A38 and then turn left onto the A380. On reaching Kingskerwell, take the first exit at the large roundabout (where is a McDonalds & Sainsburys on one side) onto the A3022 towards Torquay. After one mile turn left towards Babbacombe (signposted Babbacombe (A379)). After 1 mile turn left into Westhill Road for Warbro Road. Torquay United is signposted on nearing the ground. Street parking.

Pubs

The supporters club 'Boots & Laces' behind the main stand allows away supporters in and I found it quite pleasant and friendly. Simon Blogg recommends 'O'Connors' near the ground. Neil Le Milliere a visiting Exeter supporter adds; 'The George Inn on Babbacombe Road, was extremely welcoming, both before and after the game. The pub is around a ten minute walk away from the ground'. Located handily around the corner in Princes Street is the Hanburys Fish & Chip shop which has on occasion won national awards. Further on at the bottom of Princes Street you will find the CAMRA Good Beer Guide listed pub, the Buccaneer. Not only a good pub serving St Austell Ales, but outside the front of the pub you can also enjoy some great views along the coast. (There is also plenty of street parking available in this area)

Around a five minute walk from the home end on Marychurch Road is O'Connors Irish Bar which was popular with away fans on my last visit. To find this pub; then with the home end behind you, turn right and continue in this direction until you reach Marychurch Road. Turn left along this road keeping Somerfield on your right and you will see the pub further down on the left.

By Train

The ground is over two miles away from the main Torquay railway station and so a taxi (around £4) may well be in order. Neil Le Milliere adds; 'Torre station (one stop before Torquay station but not all trains stop there) is closest to the ground. Walk up the hill opposite the station and it's a 10-15 min walk.

Alex Latham a visiting Lincoln supporter adds, 'As I arrived over two hours before kick off and with time on my hands, I decided to walk from Torquay station to the ground. It took me a good 35 minutes. Here are the directions: Exit the station down to the seafront and turn left towards the town; this is the B3199 Torbay Rd. Stay on this road as it becomes The Strand, Torwood Street and then Babbacombe Road. After passing Ilsham Road on the right and Westwood Avenue on your left, take the next left hand turn into Warberry Road. At the top of the hill turn into Windsor Road. The ground can be clearly seen from the bottom of Windsor Road'.
