Newport Stadium - Newport County FC
Friday, February 18th 2011, 7.45pm
Vs Luton Town
By Liam Greening

1. Why you were looking forward to going to the ground (or not as the case may be):

I have loved the way Newport have got promoted to the Conference Premier in a very short space of time and also wanted to see a lot of their higher level players such as Danny Rose and Sam foley.

2. How easy was your journey/finding the ground/car parking

The journey was good thanks to the directions given on the website which were spot on.

3. What you did before the game pub/chippy.... home fans friendly?

Me and my mate went to Bar Amber at the stadium and we got into the club for free, thanks to a very friendly bunch of Newport supporters. We had a few friendly pints and watched some live football, as well as grabbing something to eat inside.

4. What you thoughts on seeing the ground, first impressions of away end then other sides of the ground?

They had recently erected two new stands close to the pitch at either end; the Spytty Road end and the Cricket Fround end these hold around 2,000 between them. We were housed in one of these new ends which was fine and with good views.

5. Comment on the game itself, atmosphere, stewards, pies, toilets etc..

The stewards were polite and the game was good to watch. The very very loud Newport County supporters gave us a lot of banter and it was was one of the better atmospheres that I have experienced on my travels in this league. The entertaining match ended in a 1-1 draw.

6. Comment on getting away from the ground after the game:

At the end of the game came, the Luton fans were kept inside the stadium for a short while, whilst the home fans vacated. We went outside and left afterwards, there were no problems at all.

7. Summary of overall thoughts of the day out:

The day out was great throughly enjoyed it many thanks Newport County. Hopefully we will meet again in League Two someday.
